Ryan Stratton is a film composer who has been writing music for films since 2010. A multi-instrumentalist, Stratton has played piano, guitar, bass, drums, orchestral and world percussion on many of his scores. He has also performed in numerous musical groups in the Detroit area; playing percussion in the Dearborn Youth Symphony, contributing bass and lead vocals to the Metro Detroit based rock band Live the Dash, and playing bass, rhythm guitar, and lead vocals in the Troy based metal band, In Mind.
Ryan currently studies Screenwriting and Film Music Composition at Chapman University in Orange, CA, and stays busy scoring student films in a variety of different genres. Projects include, Emigrate, Murphy’s Law, and the animated film, Hum, a 2015 Student Academy Awards finalist. His score for short film Infinite was nominated for Visionfest New York’s Best Original Score award. Stratton’s most recent credits include Eight, a psychological horror short, and ISRA-88, a science fiction feature film starring Casper Van Dien and Sean Maher.
